About this Event

What comes to your mind at the mention of the word 'Indian curry'?
Creamy, rich, flavorful, aromatic, Spicy?

Yes, Indian curry can be all this and so much more. Curries within India vary depending on the region and can have meat or vegetable or legume as the main ingredient. The flavors are layered and complex. The list of Indian spices can seem endless and confusing, but with a little bit of knowledge and understanding, one can confidently cook a simple curry at home.

In this cooking class, Chef Babita will take you through the different ingredients and techniques of making a delicious curry. Guests will also have the opportunity to taste 4-5 curries to understand the different flavors profile achieved through specific ingredients. Once you know how to make curry, you can vary it in any number of ways to create a specific dish to suit your taste buds.

Dishes you will learn in this Cooking Class:

Dal (Yellow lentils - 2 variations)

Yellow lentils tempered with ghee and two different set of aromatic spices - resulting in two equally delicious dishes.

Chana Masala (Chickpeas Masala)

Simple yet delicious Indian dish with chickpeas, tomatoes, onion, ginger, garlic and a special spice blend.

Coconut Chicken Curry
Chicken cooked with onion, tomatoes, spices and gently simmered in coconut milk.

All curries will be served with Steamed Rice and Roti (Flatbread) towards the end of the class.
