The cuisine of India is one of the world’s most diverse cuisines, characterized by its sophisticated and subtle use of the many spices, vegetables, grains and fruits grown across India. The cuisine includes a wide assortment of dishes and cooking techniques reflecting the varied demographics in the Indian subcontinent.

Join Babita in preparing popular Indian dishes for her cooking class! This is a unique opportunity to learn a new cuisine and culture, and cook great food.

During this class Babita will share about the ingredients and various cooking techniques that are unique to this cuisine.

Dishes you will learn in this Cooking Class:

Pakora (Spiced Fritters)

Pakoras are a favorite snack across entire India. Your favorite vegetables are dipped in a spicy batter and deep fried to make fabulous fritters. In this class, we will learn potato, onion pakoras. (Vegan – Gluten Free)

Chana Masala (Chickpeas Masala)

Simple yet delicious Indian dish with chickpeas, tomatoes, onion, ginger, garlic and a special spice blend.

Jeera Rice (Cumin Rice)

Packed with warmth and deliciousness of cumin, ghee, saffron and whole spices, Jeera Rice is a perfect accompaniment for any Indian curry.

Mint Raita (Mint yogurt dip)

Mint raita, a popular Indian style simple Mint Dip made from fresh mint leaves and curd (plain yogurt). Refreshing and healthy!

Meet Your Host 

Hailing from the Himalayan region of India, Babita learned the art of cooking from her mother and has since explored diverse culinary traditions through her travels. With over 15 years of experience, she specializes in balanced, seasonal cuisine with bold flavors. As the founder of BeBe’s Kitchen, a women-run social enterprise, she empowers refugee and immigrant chefs through immersive culinary experiences.
