Whether it's meat, vegetables, or legumes at the heart of the dish, the magic of Indian curry lies in layered flavors and the perfect blend of spices.

In this cooking demo,  Babita will guide you through the fundamentals of Indian curries, helping you decode spices, techniques, and essential ingredients. Plus, you'll get to taste 4-5 different curries, exploring how specific elements shape their unique flavor profiles. Once you learn the basics, you’ll be able to create endless variations to suit your taste!

What You’ll Learn & Cook

Dal (Yellow Lentils – 2 Ways): Tempered with ghee and two different spice blends for distinct flavors.
Chana Masala (Chickpea Curry): A simple yet delicious dish with chickpeas, tomatoes, onions, and aromatic spices.
Coconut Chicken Curry: Tender chicken cooked in a fragrant coconut-based gravy.
Accompaniments: All curries will be served with Steamed Rice & Roti (Flatbread).

Hailing from the Himalayan region of India, Babita learned the art of cooking from her mother and has since explored diverse culinary traditions through her travels. With over 15 years of experience, she specializes in balanced, seasonal cuisine with bold flavors. As the founder of BeBe’s Kitchen, a women-run social enterprise, she empowers refugee and immigrant chefs through immersive culinary experiences.
